In the context of Artificial Intelligence (AI), Big Data, the Internet of Things (IoT), and Cloud Computing reshaping the global economy, the demand for highly skilled technology professionals continues to grow. To meet this trend, Duy Tan University (DTU) has identified international collaboration and industry engagement as key strategies to enhance the quality of education, promote research, and expand career opportunities for Information Technology students.
The year 2008 marked a major milestone in DTU’s strategy to internationalize Information Technology education when the university officially partnered with Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) – one of the top four institutions for Information Technology in the United States – to implement academic programs in Software Engineering, Information Systems, and Network Engineering.

Samsung signed an agreement with DTU to sponsors a computer lab for IT training
Since then, DTU has established an increasingly extensive network of partnerships with domestic and international enterprises and technology corporations. Collaborations with leading technology companies not only enable DTU to stay abreast of emerging technological trends, but also provide students with opportunities to gain hands-on experience in real-world working environments, strengthen their professional competencies, and enhance their competitiveness in the global labor market.
A major milestone in DTU’s cooperation strategy was the launch of the Samsung Innovation Campus (SIC) project in May 2023 in collaboration with Samsung Electronics Vietnam Co., Ltd. and Junior Achievement Vietnam (JA Vietnam). Through this initiative, DTU students have access to cutting-edge technologies such as AI, Big Data, IoT, and Coding & Programming. Outstanding students are offered internship opportunities at Samsung Vietnam Research & Development Center (SRV), receive training in programming languages including Java and C/C++, and may ultimately become full-time employees of Samsung.

Numerous cybersecurity events are regularly held at DTU
DTU has also collaborated with Fore Co., Ltd. and LLL Joint Stock Company (Japan) to implement the “Blue Rock” project on campus. In addition to gaining access to the latest knowledge in Cybersecurity, participating students receive monthly salaries ranging from USD 400 to USD 800 while still enrolled at the university. Upon graduation, they are offered positions in Vietnam with salaries ranging from USD 1,200 to USD 2,200 per month.
In 2026, DTU’s international cooperation strategy continued to expand as the university participated in the Vietnam – China Forum on Education, Science, Technology, and Innovation Cooperation in Beijing. DTU further broadened its international partnership network through agreements with several leading Chinese companies specializing in AI and digital technologies. These include collaboration with Alibaba Cloud to integrate AI education with real-world cloud computing infrastructure; Chengdu Minto Technology to support the establishment of AI agent laboratories; UBTech to jointly develop an AI and robotics ecosystem; and KMAX to transfer 3D simulation applications in medicine, education, tourism, and aviation.
As a result, several Information Technology programs at DTU have earned ABET accreditation -the “gold standard” for science and engineering education in the United States – including:
- Software Engineering: accredited in 2021;
- Network Engineering: accredited in 2019 and reaccredited in 2025; and
- Management Information Systems: accredited in 2019.
From pioneering collaborative milestones to the establishment of a global network of technology partners, DTU is building an Information Technology education and research ecosystem closely aligned with industry practices. This ecosystem enables students to gain hands-on exposure to emerging technologies and equips them with the knowledge and skills needed to thrive in the global workforce.
